希望將這本書分享給在感情上遇到疑惑的朋友，在感情上沒有辦法被解釋的抽象行為與概念，或許看到這一本會有比較多對於自我的認知。
- 自我肯定:書中提到人是藉由他者來定義我們自己，而親密關係會增進對於自我的認識與認知，而親密關係的肯定會進而確立我們想要呈現的樣貌與身分。
- 心的間歇:愛情的悲劇來自於他無法逃離時間的向度，而部分的自我是否會因為停止了親密關係而消失?
- 超越善惡:何為一段關係的善與惡? 而我們如何定義道德? 康德提到道德取決於其行為動機。而兩個相愛的人本就是自私的，因為自私才相愛或分離。

不同時期會對於書中各階段而有或強或弱的感受，第一次閱讀是在20歲的時候，當時對於前段的相戀與相處比較有感受力，有關宿命論及親密感的部分。但現在閱讀，卻對於上述討論的篇章及小說後半段分別與結束有比較深刻的共鳴，覺得這是一本可以一讀再讀的書。喜歡這本書用很精鍊的文字平淡直述他所面對的過程，然後試圖以各種論點(理性的角度、哲學的思想)來解釋他對於自我的矛盾，更甚至跳脫自我，設想對方的立場，唯有當自己拉高看事物的視角，才有可能暫離困在其中的情緒。不一定是一本看了會很有力量的書，但可以透過這本書瞭解自己，了解一段感情的過程演變，然後用比較客觀及理性的觀點去看待行為模式，或許會比較豁達地接受一切，然後認知感情的結果並沒有對錯善惡。

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
